Welcome to our local Daughters of the American Revolution website. We are happy to share
our heritage and patriotic pride in being direct descendants of patriots who took part in the
American Revolution.
The Captain William Hendricks Chapter meets the NSDAR Objectives through the following activities:
Historical Preservation
Located and marked graves of American Revolution Real Daughter (distinction of the honor paid to DAR members whose fathers
were Revolutionary War patriots)
Recognizes local restorations – Linn School House and the Owens Station Opera House
Education
Support DAR School through monetary donations and other activities
Sponsor DAR Good Citizen essay contest
Sponsor national, state, and chapter scholarships
Sponsor American History essay contest Sponsor Christopher Columbus essay contest
Patriotic
Lay a wreath at the Doughboy Monument on Veterans Day
Donate time and money to soldiers overseas and veterans at home
Promote observance of Constitution Week
We meet from September through November and then February through June. Please contact us for dates, places, and times.
